NBB: life. FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most? NBB: designing MOTORCYCLES is my favourite. FS: When do you feel the most creative? NBB: On sunny days, before going for a motorcycle ride. I feel some sort of creative energy flowing through my whole body, and I can suddenly visualize where and how my lines should flow. FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing? NBB: User's experience. FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design? NBB: Mostly happiness. Surprise. Sometimes frustrations, as my pen/mouse/mouth cannot express my deeper feeling for the specific project FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized? NBB: Pride! FS: What makes a design successful? NBB: Emotion. FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first? NBB: Who's supposed to be USING it? how? What other options does he/she have? FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment? NBB: Designers can change the world. The key-factor is to find customers willing to invest and risk. FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design? NBB: more and more interface, less shapes. FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country? NBB: I lived in China for the last 7 years and yes, I feel that my cultural background (Italian) is always a dominating element of my designs. I had good teachers, inside and outside the schools I attended, and also I was lucky enough to be born in such a beautiful place as Como. FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers? NBB: Dare changing your life. Use internet in a clever way to find OPPORTUNITIES, and open as many doors as possible, in the process of becoming the master of ONE specific skill.
