Interview with Juan Yi Zhang at Sunday 10th of March 2013 FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio? JYZ: eico design was founded in 2004. Beijing, China. We have worked with more than a hundred international and local clients to innovate their products and business. We lead and define new benchmark in design concept and user experience. We leverage business strategy, visual presentation, user experience, technology, and various approaches to expand the product value and impact on product lifecycle. 40 employees focus on: interaction design, visual design, animation design, and design research. FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company? JYZ: Website for my college. FS: What skills are most important for a designer? JYZ: Observation and thinking. FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end? JYZ: Most about two or three months. FS: Who are some of your clients? JYZ: Google, Microsoft, HTC, BMW, SHARP, HP, ASUS, Autodesk, Lenovo, Huawei, ZTE, Opera, Continental FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
