FS: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
AC: I gain design diploma in Hong Kong and Canada which was my best schooling years as design is my favorable academic subject.

FS: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
AC: A Design Concept was set up in 1997, we specialize in high-end commercial interior design like hotel, clubhouse, show flat etc.

FS: What is "design" for you?
AC: Design is to bring out the message which the client and designer want to express.

FS: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
AC: Any kind of commercial project, open to public, more noise and feedback from the public.

FS: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
AC: We design all kinds of hotel rooms for L'Arc Macau Hotel, it is one of the most popular hotels in Macau.

FS: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
AC: Restaurant, Sauna, Spa.

FS: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
AC: Natural material.

FS: When do you feel the most creative?
AC: Within working hours

FS: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
AC: Layout and functional

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
AC: Passion

FS: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
AC: Excited

FS: What makes a design successful?
AC: Team work.

FS: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
AC: Layout, functional, atmosphere, and use of materials.

FS: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
AC: Environment friendly.

FS: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
AC: Design is in circular motion. It will come back after a period of time.

FS: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
AC: Never exhibit.

FS: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
AC: Any where, any time in my life.

FS: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
AC: Best use of some special building materials.

FS: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
AC: I live in Hong Kong and China, China is a developing country that we have a lot work opportunities. It likes a sponge absorbing all kinds of knowledge and ideas from the world.

FS: How do you work with companies?
AC: Closely working together.

FS: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
AC: Hard working with passion.

FS: Can you talk a little about your design process?
AC: Starts from layout, sketches, perspective rendering, material selection.

FS: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
AC: Designer chairs, light fixtures.

FS: Can you describe a day in your life?
AC: Always ready to solve problems and explore design ideas

FS: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
AC: Work hard

FS: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
AC: Design is a non stop industry, it changes very fast, if you want to be success, need to keep up with the pace and open the eyes widely.

FS: What is your "golden rule" in design?
AC: Time and work management.

FS: What skills are most important for a designer?
AC: Hand sketching

FS: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
AC: Autocad

FS: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
AC: Sleep less

FS: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
AC: i year

FS: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
AC: Can you meet the deadline?

FS: What was your most important job experience?
AC: We design all kinds of hotel rooms for L'Arc Macau Hotel, it is one of the most popular hotels in Macau.

FS: Who are some of your clients?
AC: 5 stars hotel group management, casino owner, hotel, developer, etc.

FS: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
AC: Any kind of commercial project, open to public, more noise and feedback from the public.

FS: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
AC: We are bidding an icon hotel in Beijing China.

FS: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
AC: Our company have 20 people, we work closely together.
