| DESIGN NAME: Moon PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chair INSPIRATION: The inspiration for this project comes from the moon and the hobbyhorse. The moon represents tranquility and simplicity. The hobbyhorse is a childhood memory. We hope that by designing a product, users will be able to recall the childhood time. Warmth and simple. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The leg shape of the V-STOOL is a diamond-cutting aesthetic, and the V-shaped hollow in the middle fully demonstrates the toughness of the bamboo (or wood), which is showing a unique visual effect.The design tried to use the combination of acrylic and bamboo. The transparent acrylic fully reflects the charm of the internal tenon-and-mortise structure.Furthermor OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Assembly process: the whole product can be divided into three parts (chair back, chair surface, bracket).First, insert the tenon on the bracket into the card slot of the chair back, then lower the chair surface along the card slot of the chair back, and complete the assembly.Posture: this chair can sit forward or backward. When sitting ahead, the body can lean on the back of the chair. When sitting backward, the back becomes an armrest. Hands can catch it, just like playing a Trojan horse. When a chair is placed in front of them, adults often just use the chair as a tool and forget its meaning, and children will think about how to sit more imaginative space, they will sit on the chair with the posture of riding a Trojan horse, and then enjoy the process 。 If a chair is imaginative, it is free. I try to think about the world from the perspective of children, so with this chair, I hope that when people sit in this chair, they can boldly experience it in more positions. CHALLENGE: There are three most difficult parts in the design process. The first part is the structural part. We study the traditional mortise and tenon structure of China, improve the original structure, so that the designed chair can not only reflect the beauty of structure, but also ensure the firmness of the chair after being assembled by hand. The second is to solve the problem of form aesthetics, through the careful study of scale, human-machine shape and golden ratio are integrated into the design. Third, the instability of the chair with three legs is solved. We design the chair legs as ellipse, the ellipse section of the back two legs is placed longitudinally, and the front one is placed transversely, which can ensure that the chair is not inclined to the left and right easily.
