| DESIGN NAME: Ice Lolly PRIMARY FUNCTION: Cat Litter Box INSPIRATION: I came up with this project after I shoveled my cat's litter every day. I love my cat so I clean his toilet every day. I want to design an automatic litter box with simple structure. I was inspired by Newton's law of motion, which converts gravitational potential energy into kinetic energy. So, I don't have to shovel litter. It will save me a lot of time. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful semi-automatic litter box. The unique about this design is appearance. It is divided into three parts: the cat toilet, the drawer and the warehouse, which together form an ice lolly shape. It can filter the litter to the bottom by rotating it, then pull out the drawer and dump litter into the trash can. This different way can save owners time to clean their cat's toilet. At the same time such act is more elegant, host also won't smell smelly when clearing. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: After the cat leave toilt, grab the handle and rotate it 90° to make the Ice Lolly upright. Cat litter and cat poop fall into drawers through the force of gravity. The drawers are also lined with 1.5-cm holes that allow the cat litter to continue filtering into the storage box. Then let the cat litter shake off a few more times. Pull out drawer and pour cat poop into the garbage can. Finally, put the litter box down again and reverse the operation to return the litter to the cat toilet. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2019 in Anhui and finished in May 2019 in that place, and was exhibited in Shantou in June 2019. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The shell material is made of ABS. ABS has anti-impact, high rigidity, oil resistance, low temperature resistance, chemical corrosion resistance and electrical properties, as well as ease of processing, low price, etc., which is very suitable for cat litter basin material. The handle is made of teak and covered with a waterproof paint to prevent odors. It's a big market. And compared with the general cat litter, it can save more time, has a considerable market demand. At the same time, its beautiful appearance is more competitive than the average litter box. CHALLENGE: The challenge for this project is semi-automatic cat litter box’s popularity. Many cat owners are unaware of the time and experience involved in cleaning the toilet.
