DESIGN NAME: Neoclassicism Meets Eastern
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential
INSPIRATION: Taking the aesthetics, tidiness, and attention to Feng Shui of the client into consideration, the designers integrated various key elements from Neoclassicism and traditional oriental design to fulfill the needs of a family of three, and created a luxurious atmosphere with an elegant yet expansive designing scheme, bringing the clients a relaxing and exquisite abode.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: In order to realize the dream house of the client, the designers not only provides both physical and mental comfort but also puts extra thought into the organization of the collection of the client. By combining Eastern and Neoclassical elements and utilizing geometric shapes and colors, the designers were able to implant elegant textures throughout the house, making every wall a vista to behold.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Since the client wished to have a one-and-only living environment, put a lot of emphasis on storage spaces, and is a firm believer of Feng shui, the designers had to rearrange the layout of the whole space, take down all decorations previously done by the construction company while implementing made-to-order elements to meet the needs of this family of three.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was completed in January 2019, in Taichung City, Taiwan.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Wood veneers, Polarstone, Titanium plating, Stone, Copper strips, Coating, Imported custom-made decorative laminated glass, Tea-color tinted mirror, Imported textile wall coverings, Imported tiles.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The space itself is approximately 330 square meters and consists of two master bedrooms, one guest room, one study, one dining room, one living room, one shrine room, and two storage rooms. All of the partition walls in this project were specially designed, employing sound insulating pads, cotton, and screws from Japan, making them able to effectively block out low and medium-high frequency noises and enhancing their noise-canceling properties.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As entering the foyer, people can sense the impeccable taste in all things beauty, everywhere the eye reaches was full of totemic motifs. By pairing geometric shapes and colors and utilizing the collection of the client, the designers enable to create layered aesthetics for this living space. The style of Neoclassicism was adopted with a fusion of Eastern elements, utilized customized furniture such as hidden doors and hidden storage shelves to give different aspects to the home. Through detail-oriented designs, the project houses the collection throughout the years, allowing the client to indulge in them whenever he wants to.
CHALLENGE: The designers had to take down all decorations previously done by the construction company and start from starch in order to meet the client needs. Every inch of this space was calculated and considered rigorously before renovation had begun. Upon the choosing of furniture, the designers ultimately decided to go for made-to-order pieces that fit the client taste and his close eye on cleanliness in order to create a living space that perfectly matches the living habits. The process included a painstaking trial of searching for high-end materials that were suitable and countless hours of communication.
