| DESIGN NAME: Bon Apetite Lamp PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lighting Signaling INSPIRATION: The inspiration for this lamp comes from my personal experience from most of the bars and restaurants, where you need to wait an unnecessarily long time to process your order with the waiter or you are quite often interrupted during your meal or conversations with friends by questions. How is your meal? Do you need to order? etc. The solution of this lamp helps to create a quality time for the guests and it makes the operations in the restaurant significantly more effective. The flipping of the Lamp creates the signals for the waitress and they are aware of your needs. (Privacy, Order) UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Bon Appetit lamp is intended for bars and restaurants. If you want to order a drink, just simply flip the lamp on the other side, and the lamp changes color. This will facilitate clear visibility for waiters and simplify the operation of a restaurant and it will help minimize direct contact between the waiters and the customers. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Specific parameters of the lamp, are extra valuable in the current pandemic time because they can reduce the direct contact between the operation of the restaurant and the guests. The pandemic time changes the requirements of the guests. The guests are not fully focused only on the quality of the products anymore but the importance of the safe environment and quality of the service is required with equivalent importance as well. Bon Appetit lamp is supporting social distancing, the surface of the lamp is designed as smooth so it can be easily sanitized. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The initial idea started during my studies at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem in 2015 during the Hospitability project. The illumination comes through the plastic shade (so non breakable and light weight) Made of high quality Aluminum SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Dia. 117 mm x H 220 mm. Long Life RGBW LED light source. Works on high-quality battery pack (up to 6 hours of operation at maximum wattage) Energy consumption: 1x2W, 230V, Dimmable. Rechargeable via micro USB cable and easily portable. Construction: Mixed The illumination comes through the plastic shade (so nonbreakable and lightweight) Made of high-quality Aluminum TAGS: Covid 19 pandemic, Social Distancing, Effectivity of the service, Privacy of the customers RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The solution of this lamp helps to create a quality time with your friends and it makes the operations in the restaurant significantly more effective. CHALLENGE: The scope of research was limited by the pandemic situation, hence online sources are included. NAME: Anezka Zavadova PROFILE: Anezka Zavadova has been Lighting and product designer since 2016. As a senior designer, she works with architects and designers across the Middle East region to develop the specific design and light solutions. Her strength lies in her ability to conceptualize and create memorable lighting installations that fit a space’s size, usage and style. In her work, she likes to combine industrial procedures that seek to enrich her artistic approach. Some of her more notable projects include the Mandarin Oriental in Dubai, Atlantis at The Palm and Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi. She has degrees in both industrial and product design. |
