| DESIGN NAME: Blossom PRIMARY FUNCTION: Ring INSPIRATION: A visit to a flower field during the spring season is the inspiration behind the design. Blooming flowers, bright colors, symmetry, and textures. Hand engraved ring shank, circular supports, inclined stones inspired by bottom part of the flower. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Blossom a ring design inspired by a blooming flower field during the spring season. Handcrafted in 22k gold, and studded with Foiled natural uncut diamonds, Natural Zambian Emeralds, and Glass field rubies. The shank has a hand carved design to feel the same when one holds the flower. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Feb 2019 in San Diego, California and finished in Oct 2019 in Hyderabad, India. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design was handcrafted into a ring in 22k gold SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The size of the ring is US 16. and the flower dimensions are L 25mm*W 25mm*H 12mm. TAGS: blossom, flowers, spring, jewelry, ring, gold, diamond, emerald, symmetry RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Research started with an Inspiration, then with Brain mapping, Moodboard, Inspiration board, Color board were created. Later rough sketches and concept board. The design was later converted into a working model to make it easier on the sizing and technical aspects. CHALLENGE: The hardest part was to hand carve a design on the ring shank and stone setting on a tilted surface. NAME: Pranay Kanodia PROFILE: Pranay Kanodia, a National Award-winning Designer who was born into a family of Jewelry business for decades was always fascinated with the designs he saw at the display walls. As a kid, he used to sketch many designs that were improvised by the elders in the family and that helped in gaining interest in designing. He joined an advance diploma in Jewelry designing course from Raffles Millennium Design Institute and later got an opportunity to work as an intern under the able guidance of leading Jewelry Designer Varuna D Jani, Mumbai. He later joined Gia for Professional Jewelry Design and today has 05 years of professional experience. The designs are already a hit among leading business families and other celebrities. The jewelry selection is a tall task. But when you have the expertise and guidance then jewelry buying can be a cakewalk. His main goal is to encourage young designers to pursue their dreams without thinking of age and experience as an obstacle. Apart from being a jeweler, he wants to inspire and educate. |
