DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
Flower Cone

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Bouquet packing

INSPIRATION:
We observed that after receiving a bouquet from a lover, many people often left the bouquet in a corner of the house because they did not have a suitable vase until it withered and was finally thrown away. And the plastic bouquet packaging also caused a certain degree of pollution, so we decided to improve the bouquet packaging.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The surprise and good mood brought by the flowers given by lovers are often thrown away at the corner of the house because they have no temporary containers. We select the natural paper packaging made of natural fiber cellophane and carry out refoldable structural transformation. The user can easily press down the outer packaging to form a simple vase, which avoids the pollution caused by traditional plastic packaging and can be continued by adding water Fresh and beautiful flowers.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
FLOWER CONE is in the shape of a flower with a height of only 3cm when it is transported and stored. After being stretched, it is a cylindrical shape packed with ordinary bouquets. After the user returns home, pull down the package to form the shape of a simple vase, and add water to continue the freshness of the flowers.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
In November 2019, Beijing Institute of Technology

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:
Idea Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The packaging is made of natural fiber cellophane, which is bright in color and light and impervious to water.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
5cm in diameter when folded 25cm in height

TAGS:
Packaging, foldable, recyclable, caring, flowers

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Surprise bouquets that arrive suddenly are often left aside in the end, just because the owner doesn't have the right container. The fresh bouquet will dry up in about two days at room temperature of 25 ℃, but the presence of the flower cone allows you to directly use the packaging water of the bouquet itself to continue the freshness of the flower for a week or more. We believe that every resource is as important as the beauty of flowers.

CHALLENGE:
The biggest challenge is to find a suitable environmentally-friendly foldable material, which is convenient enough to be widely used.
