| DESIGN NAME: Silence PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: The designer hope to achieve a full range of five senses in the indoor space, including sight of coordination, touch of wood grain, smell of plants, sounds of wind, and taste of slightly sweet tea. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: " Silence " is a residence where is designed for a couple and two children. In addition to the traffic flow and storage planning , the designer pay great attention to the performance of light, shadow, layer, rhythm, three-dimensional composition and natural materials. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In order to maximize the open space, the designer removed the original kitchen compartment wall. Breaking the boundaries between traditional Chinese kitchens and restaurants, the kitchen and the living room become one space. While space users can communicate with each other, there is more fun and variability of public spaces. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in 2019 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: At the entrance, the designer defines the dust zone with black tiles. Due to "feng shui" considerations, the shoe cabinet with teak grill is suspended between the entrance and the living room. The space which is above and below the shoe cabinet is avoided the sense of closure. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This space is 82 square meters TAGS: Interior Design, Residence RESEARCH ABSTRACT: On the functional partition, the designer gathered the sink and the electric ceramic stove in kitchen island while storage cabinets are integrated into the kitchen wall. The two materials of silestone and old teak define the dining area and cooking work area. The pendant decorates the atmosphere of the kitchen island. CHALLENGE: The couch is arranged next to French window of the living room. The ceiling above the couch is embedded with Fragrant fir. While the sofa wall is made of cement, The TV wall of the living room is pure white wall. The indoor atmosphere is very silence.
