Furniture and Accessories

INSPIRATION:
Nfrt is a Furniture and Accessories collection inspired by objects from the ancient Egyptian civilization. The collection seeks to offer contemporary luxury products with a strong Egyptian identity. The name of the collection “Nfrt” is the Egyptian hieroglyph adjective for good, pleasant, and beautiful. The project started in April 2019 in Cairo, Egypt, as a design exploration, and is still ongoing, currently it is in the process of prototyping.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Key objects were carefully chosen based on their strong symbolism and global recognition to be reinterpreted to serve contemporary uses.

The project started in April 2019 in Cairo, Egypt and is still ongoing.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The chosen objects were virtually modeled and subjected to a deductive 3D polygonal optimization to generate abstract versions of the objects. The anatomy of the collection objects, intentionally bears a resemblance to their ancestor objects to evoke the wonder and awe associated with the Ancient Egyptians. Colors and materials were chosen to reflect the Ancient Egyptian Heritage; Brass, Polylactide (PLA), White and black glossy ceramics, and red velvet for the furniture.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
1. Deshret Arm Chair: Dimensions: 650 mm x 700 mm x 1050 mm, seating height: 450 mm Materials: Wooden body, Upholstery with Red Velvet finishing, brass arms. 2. Hedjet Light Stand: Dimensions: 350 mm x 350 mm x 950 mm Materials: Semi translucent polylactide (PLA), with Brass lining. 3. The light of Ra chandelier: Dimensions: 850 mm x 150 mm x 1000 mm Materials: Semi translucent polylactide (PLA) disk, with Brass body. 4. The eye of Ra mirror stand: Dimensions: 650 mm x 150 mm x 1350 mm Materials: Circle Mirror with Brass body. 5. Shenu Coffee Table & Side Table: Dimensions: 1200 mm x 600 mm x 450 mm , 600 mm x 600 mm x 720 mm Materials: Brushed brass finish legs, glass table top. 6. Shen Ring Couch: Dimensions: 2000 mm x 2000 mm x 600 mm, seating height: 450 mm Materials: Wooden body, Upholstery with White Velvet finishing, brass accessories. 7. Tut & Titi Accessories: Nefertiti’s Planter: 450 mm x 700 mm x 650 mm Materials: Pottery/ceramics with ultra-glossy white or black finish Tut’s bust Statue: 300 mm x 300 mm x 300 mm Materials: Pottery/ceramics with brushed brass finish. Tut & Titi Vase & Planter: 180 mm x 150 mm x 250 mm Materials: Polylactide (PLA) with black finish.
