INSPIRATION:
The mythology has shaped modern life in different ways. As a jewelry designer, I was inspired by the stories of Scandinavian mythology and the beginning of the story of Freyja. Freyja is the goddess of love and beauty. One of the reasons for her beauty is her necklace named Brinsingamen. This necklace was made by four dwarves named Air, Water, Earth and Fire. Freyja combines her soul with the energy of life represented by four basic elements and this necklace carries her to the eternity of love

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The five corners of the star represent fire, air, water, earth and the top corner of the star symbolizes the soul. The middle of the star represents eternal love. The gold color inspiration from Freyja eye drops of her ordeal and the black color of its base represents the depth of her passion for the necklace by taking the risk of losing her life. This necklace, while capturing the magic and beauty of the mythology, celebrates the vibrant spirit of modernity.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
This piece of jewelry get in touch between art and history. The Myths have inspired humans for centuries. This design is combined with the historical power of mythology.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in May 2018 in Norway and finished in November 2018 in Turkey.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The necklace design was made with 3D design software, then cast in order to be used as a mold. For the material, 925 carat silver has been used. In order to color, black enamel engraving, and gold plating techniques are used. The necklace is premium quality handmade.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Necklace chord length is 700 mm. The medallion is 30 x 30 mm. Total weight is 15,12 grams.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The research of Scandinavian mythology was carried out between 790-1100 AD. The gods and goddesses who had power in mythology were researched. When the accessories used at that time were examined, the story symbol of Brisingamen, the precious necklace of the Freya figure, was researched from internet and from many books. As a result of the research, the symbol was placed in a modern necklace pattern and the appropriate color work was carried out according to historical information.

CHALLENGE:
The most important part of this design activity was to foresee the harmony that two would create when placing this symbol in a modern mold. It seems to blend the past and the future. In the production process, a fine workmanship was required. I had no difficulty in transferring my mind to paper, but the important part was to find the workshop that I was going to work with in the end this design that requires a fine labor.
