Peel Plasticine

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Toy machine

INSPIRATION:
Every time I pass by vegetable markets or fruit stores, it is noticeable that the trash cans are filled with rotten leaves and fruit peels which will only end up in landfills. I couldn't help thinking whether I can make use of them as a product designer. At the same time, I found through research that most of the children's plasticine on the market is made of industrial rubber, which may be harmful to children.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Peel plasticine uses wasted of pericarp and pomace of fruits and vegetables as raw materials, along with sodium alginate, to produce a new environmental friendly shaping plasticine. This kind of environmentally friendly shaping plasticine allows children to independently search for pericarp and pomace of fruits and vegetables to build their own multicolored world, which is good to enhance their awareness of color and graphics, so as to encourage them to eat more fruits and vegetables.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
firstly, Put the vegetable or fruit peel into the collection tank. Then add sodium alginate to the producing machine and put the collected peel into the producing machine. Press the switch to start mixing, then take out the shaping plasticine.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in Ningbo in July 2018 , and completed in Ningbo in December 2018 , and will be on display in Hangzhou in June 2018.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Due to the color of mud colour diversity, the businessman will join a variety of dyes, likely to cause excessive mobility of heavy metal elements: although preservatives can delay microbial growth or chemical changes caused by corruption, in order to prolong the period of validity, to extend the shelf life of color mud products, but many preservatives are credited with allergenic, if add too much, children's long-term exposure or ingestion of easy to cause potential harm to body health.
