INSPIRATION: Beach cleanups have become very popular with environmental NGOs over the past decade, but ended up is just a spotlight event mainly for show rather than a long term answer to the coastal pollution. When we learned how much effort had been putting into the marine protection and conservation from Greenpeace and Sea Shepherd organization, the team came up with an idea to develop a series of educational learning toys for preschool age children with saving the ocean marine life as the core concept, we believe education is always the ultimate solution for the world’s problem.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Study how to make serious global issues, through education to use in a simple and interesting way to let children learn, recognize and explore children's hands and eyes coordination, hand muscles, logical thinking and mental development. Through the online data of children's educational toys, in terms of diverse shapes and institutions, most of them are made of plastics that can be made for mass production. in addition to safety problems, such as children will accidentally put toys in the mouth, and the plastic itself has toxins. In order to express our concept that we do not want plastics to flow into the ocean, we decided to use natural materials to renewable toys, and design an environmental topic to teaching toys. Let the toys get recognized and valued.
CHALLENGE: In order to make the productions and ocean issues cooperate with each other, making the design more logical, collecting relevant articles and videos to get the inspirations from them. we choose to use FSC-certified wood without destroying any ecology. We have spent a lot of time dealing with limitations and cost considerations due to our wood processing. I think the biggest challenge is to let all kindergartens and markets to accept this issue and accurately communicate goals such as ocean issues to everyone.
