PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Bag

INSPIRATION:
The design is inspired by the idea of understanding creatures. The designer wants to express her understanding of, each individual living life is special and unique.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The bag handle is specialized and custom made by 3D print technology, while it keeps the shape of an animal horn to represent the idea and understanding of living creatures.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
This bag can be a shoulder bag, handbag, and a crossbody bag. Inside of the bag, it has pockets, zipper pockets, two chain connection to connect with the keys and holder for pen and lipsticks which is in a great functionality.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project takes two weeks for design and made in Savannah, Georgia, USA. It also has been exhibited in the city at the local gallery.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Designed and developed through digital modeling and 3D printing, the bag handle takes the form of an animal horn. The layered texture of the bag is reminiscent of the physical sensations of living creatures. The whole work is regarded as a special piece which represents the essence of natural creation.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The designer did a lot of research about the word of creature to figuring out her personal understanding of creatures. For the author's understanding, animals and plants are also living creatures which same as human and animals. There are varieties of living lives which can be regarded as the creature.

CHALLENGE:
The work is regarded as a special piece which represents the essence of natural creation. It expresses the author's respect and reverence toward living lives. The designer hopes to have a conscious exchange of ideas about the concept of creation through the artwork. So the designer discovered 3D print technology to made the bag handle as a horn shape instead of using the real animal horn. And it is also challenging for designer to figure out the bag consturction and sewing technology.

The designer believes that all designs should come from real life and is able to explore the small details that should stand ready to be the source of the inspirational elements of our design. With the recognization of her true calling in accessory design, the goal of bringing in special, eye-catch design for accessories as the discipline combines fashion, function, and creativity. Designer's project is focusing on the deep exploration of the soul's needs for the human being, which is also an important expression of the author's concern for people mental health in a positive way.
