| DESIGN NAME: No.601 Peaceful and Comfortable PRIMARY FUNCTION: Apartment House INSPIRATION: Squeaky clean usually means clean, yet it also intends to keep your heart pure and not being polluted by the six types of objects more broadly. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: One single material in all 297.52 square meters space: oak flooring is used in the entire area (excluding the bathroom); partition walls, doors and white system cabinets are used to define functions in different rooms; eventually what meets the eye is the original state of the space and various layers of light & shadow. That also displays the spirit of life and traces of living openly and clearly: go with the flow and be at ease and carefree. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Understanding the owner’s desire for a simple home living (possibly receiving no visitors), followed by countless discussions and space focusing with 3D drawings, that narrows down the elements needed in space for an essential home living, thus invoking ideas for interior design. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: In this space, the only color you see is the color of the oak wood flooring; and cutting the floor piece to 275 x 30 cm together with the walls, seamlessly forming a perfect proportion for visual gratification. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: An area of space is 298 square meters. TAGS: Simple, minimal, energy, light, life, pure, nature, interior design RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Rather than adopting the existing in vocabulary and popular styles, the design centers on the transformation of existence and nonexistence. The core of the design is about displaying the emotions of the inhabitants in their daily life. Not many colors and design are used to the lines and planes. Furniture is simplified before being arranged, yet it carries the strength of different emotions. CHALLENGE: The hard part lies in system integration. With a 280 cm high ceiling, lighting, AC system, water pipes, and electrical circuits are neatly tucked away inside the ceiling over an open passageway to keep the space visually clear and stress-free.
