RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The development of the project preceded by detailed preliminary work. The climatic features of the construction site, the prevailing structural and finishing materials, as well as the building regulations and planning restrictions applicable to the area carefully studied. The survey of residential buildings of the same scale made it possible to determine the historical and planning archetypes and collect information on the traditional construction technology.
CHALLENGE: The most difficult part of the project is to achieve the most expressive architectural appearance of a utilitarian object of small size and volume in a small area. Specific natural features and limited palette of materials and technologies have led to abandon excessive detail in favor of compactness and natural textures. The result is a modern design building with a traditional silhouette and classic proportions.
