| DESIGN NAME: Flip Cup PRIMARY FUNCTION: Control tea time INSPIRATION: If tea leaves in water for a long time will produce some unhealthy substances, and the taste will become bitter. White-collar workers who work in the office often do not have time to mix their own tea with a taste. We found that the magnet and the stainless steel filter mesh can attract each other to separate tea leaves and water, so I want to suggest people the right time to make tea through the filter's fall time. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The most suitable place for this cup is the office tea,which can improve the efficiency of tea making and increase the fun of tea.The main design points,first,the best time to make tea by controlling the falling time of the tea strainer in the cup.Second,tea and water separation by magnetic force of stainless steel tea strainer and with magnetic lid. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: First,add tea in the tea strainer. Second,add water in the cup and the most suitable proportion of tea and water are 1:50.Third,flip the cup 180°. Fourth,the falling time of the tea strainer is about 90 second. Fifth,when the tea strainer falls to the bottom, it will be attracted by the lid. Sixth,finished a cup of tea for the best tea time. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project began in Tianjin in September 2018 and is undergoing an experimental production phase. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The main production process are blown in double-layer glass and stainless steel processing. The main materials are tainless iron, magnet and borosilicate glass. With a better understanding of tea, we found that the time of soak tea is an important thing in the tea culture. In general, when the ratio of tea to water is 1:50, most kinds of tea soaking time is 90 second and the tea separation is the best (the best soaking time for different types of tea is different). The significance of this design is that people who do not understand the characteristics of tea can also make a cup of tea that tastes good, while adding a little fun to the process of making tea. CHALLENGE: The most important part of the project is to test the time the filter has fallen in the cup. By changing the size of the restriction orifice and the gap between the filter and the inner wall to control the desired fall time. What's more, we need multiple experiments to find the most suitable size of restriction orifice.
