DESIGN NAME:
Thinner

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Health Drink Package

INSPIRATION:
In nowadays, a large number of health drink packages have entered people vision. However, most of them do not concisely embody information about the product and cause a lot of making costs. From my perspective, the drink package should accurately and interesting express the valued information showing the function of this drink. So I have the inspiration for this design.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Thinner is a health drink package. When the consumer enjoys the beverage, the bottle will shrink, which looks like being thinner after drinking the green juice. The features of this design are owing to the optical illusion which fully embodies the drink function, and it is fun and cheap, easy to produce.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The consumer just drinks the beverage, then the bottle will shrink by the optical illusion pattern, which looks like being thinner then before.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in July 2017 in Beijing and finished in August 2017 in Beijing.

Packaging Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The main technology is the heat transfer printing to realize the pattern in the bottle, and the material is plastic. Through this way, it is cheap and easy to make.

Effect of the Research It discovers the weakness of the existing drink package, and make people deeply think about what a really good package is.

CHALLENGE:
The creative challenge is how to find out a way to make the bottle thinner, and make sure this way is cheap and easy to mass produce.

Z·DESIDN is founded in 2017, by Gan Yizhen who is a product designer. This brand advocates designing for real life, and guides users to experience and enjoy life through the creative design. Product - Thinner is one of the representative works of Z·DESIDN brand. Facing a great number of drinking packages, this product, concisely and succinctly, conveys the information contained in the new healthy drinks in the form of visual illusion. Furthermore, the studio - Z·DESIDN is also committed to the combination of new material researches and products, such as soft cement, edible vinegar and so on. Its shape is mainly based on minimalist geometry, highlighting the interest of materials. In the diversified time, Z·DESIDN pays more attention to the meaningful life and expresses the valued information that the products really need to convey through ingenious and interesting ways.
