RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Imperial Tobacco had the courtesy to set to the designers' disposal a number of qualitative and quantitative researches in order for them to gain a deeper understanding of how people use the existing cigarettes gondolas. Qualitative researches are exploratory researches and try to gather insights on what people need in their everyday lives. Quantitative researches are conducted indirectly as a method to gather relevant data from large numbers of users.
By combining the key features of both methods, dede design studio had a holistic approach to the researched topic and was able to proceed to a human centered design process.
CHALLENGE: As dede always yearn for exploration, they launch themselves into the life of the tobacco company learning about its market’s needs and desires and what makes it different. When textures, forms and colors burst into being, that's when magic happens and the designers orchestrate the way the company engages with the world.
