| DESIGN NAME: Ufonic PRIMARY FUNCTION: Table lamp INSPIRATION: The source of inspiration for the Ufonic lamp was the television and literary images of alien ships. Rounded futuristic shapes, a shimmering surface, a bright glow - all of this was reflected in the project. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The lamp consists of two main parts: a plafond with a lamp-socket and a base with legs. The plafond consists of two hemispheres of different radius and is easily fixed on the base. The source of illumination is a flat LED-light, built into the inside of the bottom of the plafond. The collection features 3 colors and 3 sizes which can be used as a desktop or floor lamp. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The lamp is turned on with the button on the cable. To replace the LED luminaire simply unscrew the upper part of the plafond. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design of the lamp was developed in May 2018 in St.Petersburg. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The plafond is made of acrylic and a base with legs made of artificial stone with a metal core. The outer bottom of the plafond is made of metal, painted in the color of the base. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Large: 540mm x 525mm x 430mm Medium: 400mm x 380mm x 315mm Small: 300mm x280mm x 225mm TAGS: Ufo, Ufonic, spaceship, ufo lamp, space lamp RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Mystical and unknown, including the probability of the existence of extraterrestrial civilizations, often stirs the imagination of a person. We wanted to give people the opportunity to have a small spaceship at home. CHALLENGE: UFO spaceships are usually perceived as something cold, alien and distant. We needed to achieve that the lamp on the contrary created coziness, was pleasant to the eye and organically fit into the home atmosphere. It was necessary to balance the shape and size of the plafond and the thickness of the base and legs.
