| DESIGN NAME: Art is Life PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: The project is a demonstration unit in Ningbo, we would like to propose new living style to the local customers. After the research and many layout options, the interior finally fits 2 bedrooms, 1 studio, 1 living room, 1 dinning area, 1 kitchen, 2 washrooms and 1 long balcony within the limited space. Besides, "Art" approach theme was proposed as the local customers like to have better lifestyle throught buying new apartment. Home is not only the place for sleeping and eating, it is the common space for the family and show owners' taste. Therefore, art approach can help to upgrade the living standard and the property itself. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is a demonstration unit in Ningbo, China. The purpose of the project is to help developer to attract more customers to buy the apartments. Before the design stage, designer was required to realize the local market, and the type of customers etc. After the reserch, modern luxury atmosphere was proposed to match the local marketing scheme. It also help to upgrade the property and fillfill the local living standard. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: As it is a demonstration unit, therefore traffic flow within the showflat is very important. The designer tried many optional layouts and then came up the final decision with 2 bedrooms, 1 studio, 1 dinning room, 1 living room, 1 kitchen and 2 bathroom. The layout fits well all the living requirements of the local customers. After entering the entrance, both living room and dinning room can be seen clearly. There is no partition in between two spaces, so it looks very spacious. It also helps developer to improve the space quality and selling price of the apartment. Of course the other bedrooms and bathroom were well located around the living area. We specially proposed a studio in the flat in order to highlight the "Art" theme. Both developer and customers are all satisfied with the final outcome. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Stone, timber, wall paper are the main materials applied with some featured fabric panels SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 120sm TAGS: #Ningbo, #showflat, #forte, #art, #hotkoncepts, #interiordesign, #martinchow RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As it is a demonstration unit, therefore the designer needed to realize the local market and type of customers in Ningbo, China. Of course the designer was required to work closely with the marketing team of the client, so that the designer came up some optional interior styles and layouts for the client's approval. Finally, 3-rooms type and art approach were selected for this demonstration unit. CHALLENGE: The challenge was to fit 3 rooms, living room, dinning area, kitchen and 2 bathrooms within the space. Besides, the interior design style must also fulfill the local market, as art approach theme is not common in Ningbo. Designers need more time to communicate with the client and local customers.
