| DESIGN NAME: Benri: A Simple Lunch Ordering App PRIMARY FUNCTION: App Design INSPIRATION: This app is inspired by the lack of simple and hassle-free lunch solutions currently on the market. Most apps offer delivery services from restaurants, which require users to browse through many meal options. That in itself can be stressful. We'd like to simply people's lunch choice and make it easy for them to pick and choose in advance so that they can forget about it during the work week and simply have food magically delivered to them every day. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: There are many meal ordering apps on the market right now, but non of them let you pick by ingredients in a simple and clean way. Benri is a Japanese word that means convenience, which is the goal of this app. Users can simply choose components of a delicious meal from organic farm fresh sources and fill their lunch bento boxes with 1 click. They can also easily schedule delivery for the lunch so it's a set and forget approach for busy working professionals. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The user will see a splash screen of the logo, immediately follow by the sign up/sign in screen. In order to let non-registered users browse the apps before they decide to sign up, they will be able to choose "just looking" to test out the functionalities first. Users will then be able to see a complete list of ingredients, which can be added to each of the 4 compartments of the "bento box". When they finished, they can place the order immediately or schedule for delivery a week in advance. They can also message customer support if they have any questions/problems. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: It will be built for iOS and Android. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: This app is based on iOS with future plans to be developed for Android. TAGS: mobile app design, interface design, interaction design, UI design, product demo, product animation RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This app is inspired by the lack of simple and hassle-free lunch solutions currently on the market. Most apps offer delivery services from restaurants, which require users to browse through many meal options. That in itself can be stressful. We'd like to simplify people's lunch choice and make it easy for them to pick and choose in advance so that they can forget about it during the week. I saw a market there and decided to design an app that fills in that gap. CHALLENGE: The challenge of this project is the implementation of the service behind the app - we need to find and source food ingredient and build a reliable and robust delivery team in order to get the service started. It is still in discussion phase.
