| DESIGN NAME: Endless Lamp PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lamp INSPIRATION: The inspiration source of the lamp is the ‘’eternity of the light’’ notion. This leads to a design, where top and bottom surface of organic wood pieces are circular. These pieces are connected in a concentric manner such that only circular motion is allowed. Since each unit is designed to move on a 360 degree axis, the lamp can be formed in ‘’infinite’’ number of possible shapes. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This standing lamp design consists of perpetuating shaped organic wood pieces and round metal base. Each round wooden piece is constructed to move circularly around their center point. This allows each unit to be shaped independently enabling lighting in all desired directions. The constituent pieces are chosen as organic pieces to be in accord with nature. The metal base at the bottom provides support for the moving parts,and provides suitable match for the environment it is used. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This object is a floor lamp. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: It is designed in Ankara, TURKEY. This project is in a concept stage and has not been menufactured. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The lamp is digitally designed using 3d modelling and rendering softwares. It can be produced in wood or wood texture or any range of colours and textures. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 500 mm x 500 mm x 1600 mm TAGS: Lamp, Floor lamp, Lightining, Endless RESEARCH ABSTRACT: First I created the form of the design in my mind then sketched it. After then I decided to the dimensions with my researches. Also I have detailed the design according to the stages of transportation, installation and manufacturing. CHALLENGE: There was a challenge to create a stylish and functional form that was not used before. The goal is that make the buyer excited from the first sight and allow the buyer create their own form by moving pieces circularly to be shaped independently enabling lightining in all desired directions.
