DESIGN NAME: Beauty and Youth Marunouchi
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Select Fashion Store
INSPIRATION: Inspired by the flow of emotions according to what we see and touch, different colors and special materials were used for the flooring, glass screen and louver gave each zone a special character that coexist with each other.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: BEAUTY and YOUTH is a "select shop" that has a wide variety of items from famous brands all around the world. The layout is divided by the special material and colors which not only act as a guide, but also creates a distinctive flow of motion and feeling along with the flow of people and customers through the L shape of the store as the public passage is a part of the design. Between each area, hologram glass films were used to create an unique accent for the store.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Customers go from an area to another with the helps from a clear line of sight from the entrance and the unique design and material of each area.
The colored hologram films are used for the partition walls and fixtures between each section that change to various colors depend on the viewing angle and light adjustment.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Started in March 2017 in Marunouchi - Tokyo and finished in November 2017

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Colored hologram films are used for the partition walls and fixtures change to various colors depend on the viewing angle and light adjustment. The area surrounding the public escalator was also used as an unique part of the store.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: With the area of 722.48 sq meters that used to be occupied by 7 different stores now turned into one, a part of the store is also the public passage including elevators and escalator and most of the store is not visible from the entrance because of the L shape, the team had to design an unique space but also not to distance itself from the common sense.
CHALLENGE: Against the narrowness of the entrance and with most of the store is at the back of the L shade area, the team had to create a space that could draw the curiosity in but also considering not to hinder the line of sight and flow line to the back. With special material such as hologram color film and an oval shape dome span from floor to ceiling, the team tried to send the customers from emotion to emotion as they move to different area.
