PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Liquor Dispenser

INSPIRATION:
The product is inspired by Beverage Dispensers at various multiplexes, that usually run on quite a complex bag in box system. Fountain however is liquor dispenser specifically for premium drinks at luxury lounges/bars/restaurants where beverage tending is currently at the mercy of a bar tender. The product in principle works on peristaltic pumps that ensure uniform flow with precision.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Fountain is an automated precision controlled liquor dispenser.It dispenses an exact quantity of a small or a large drink with zero spillage or pilferage.Fountain is a smart data analytics machine that generates data for the number of drinks sold per brand on a daily, weekly, month or yearly basis.The product can also map the drinks sold across a chain of bars in the nation.The 24 inch LED display on the other side provides space for brands to advertise offers/products.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The bar tenders logs into his account (important to understand which operator dispensed what during his/her shift), sets up the bar menu on the 8 inch tablet (5 drinks). Refills/places the bottles. He/she then places the glass in front of the glass sensor near the nozzle, Chooses a brand on the tab, select quantity (small/large) and selects "POUR", that's it! The command does not work if the glass is not present ensuring no accidental pouring/wastage.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
Project Initiated in Dec 2016 in Bangalore, India by Finnant design pvt. ltd. and is out for production in march 2018

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Product has a (filed for national patent) adapter that can be pulled down during bottle refilling, and is designed in such a way that anti adulteration flow valve is not removed from the bottle. The bottle can be used as is, the smart adapter allows bottles of varied neck sizes to fit in snugly without leakage. Product uses all food grade materials and is NSF certification ready. The products body is made of metal, plastic could not be used here as the company is just starting out and wanted to work with limited tool cost.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
A lot of primary research was carried out by observing people at various pubs and bars. Consumers often ask for a drink to a bar tender and the bar tender in state of rush & hurry either pours a little less or a little too much without any control on spillage. We found in some cases, there was pilferage and certain drinks were also given for free by the bar tender. At the end of each day, number of bottles were counted physically to understand a day's sale. We wanted to automate the whole system so that one saves time, money and effort.

CHALLENGE:
The creative challenge was on how to make the product more inviting and of owner's pride. Which meant, giving the dispenser an exclusive space on the main counter rather than at the back of the bar. The product not only had to look good on both sides but also had to perform, either on an informative level by its 40" mountable screen or Mood Lighting on an emotional level. The next hardest part was to ensure that the bar tender still had a sense of pride in the activity of monitored dispensing, hence the TAB gives a exclusive right to the bar tender ensuring his/her importance.
