PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Food container

INSPIRATION:
Sometimes, we think this food has gone off, Isn't it? It's very confusing. There are times when the user wants to know how fresh the food is in the container. Especially, many users store their food container full of food in the refrigerator and forget about it. And the container with spoiled food takes a part in the refrigerator.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Food container that shows the freshness of the food inside. The freshness of the food is shown visually with film sensor. As the freshness of the food decrease, the freshness sensor attached to the cap of the container detects it and the film sensor changes its color. The film sensor show a three-step process. First, Blue color is the freshest. Second, Green color is warning. This means that food is still edible, but it is about to spoil in 2-3 days. Lastly, Yellow color is food spoiled.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
1. Put the food in the container 2. Store the food in the refrigerator 3. The food constantly gets spoiled as time goes by 4. As the freshness of the food decrease, the freshness sensor attached to the cap of the container detects it and the film sensor changes its color (Blue to Yellow) 5. If the color of the ring changes yellow, the food must be thrown away.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in May 2012 and finished in January 2013 in Seoul, South Korea. and was awarded winner in reddot concept design award.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The design of the Food fresh checker is a result of the cognitive psychological experiments, thanks to which I was able to confirm the freshness easily with clear visibility. Then I think that this is how we tell our bodies not to eat spoiled foods. so, we can stay healthy from food poisoning. As a result, The design can protect people's health.
