DESIGN NAME:
The Executive Center Taipei

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Coworking Space

INSPIRATION:
Activity Based Working (ABW) is the main concept for us to initiate this project. By providing people with a choice of settings for a variety of workplace activities rather than forcing individuals to undertake all their work at one setting, such as a fixed desk or within a designated cubicle, ABW seeks to encourage people to physically locate themselves where it is most suitable for them to complete their work. Spaces are designed to create opportunities for a variety of workplace activities from intense, focused work to impromptu and informal meetings or more formal meetings.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The 1st Premium Coworking Space with state-of-the-art communication tools and a variety of workplace choices. Such as phone booth, standing meeting area, group discussion area or fully furnished and well-equipped breakout area.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
-

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in Dec.2016 in Neihu Technology Park,Taipei and finished in March 2017, and the space was official launched on April 1st.

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:
Interior Space and Exhibition Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
We hope to create a user-friendly workspace. By creating different types of workspace, for example, standing meeting room, telephone booths, spacious co-working area, multi-functional area and full-equipped breakout area etc., users can find a suitable mode of work to enhance their work efficiency. Through a variety of activities held in the multi-functional area, people can make links with different entrepreneurs more easily and achieve interpersonal relationships and business relations through the interaction.Ideally, we try to attract natural daylight as much as possible and allow it flowing into the whole space. By using metal laser cutting for the ceiling design, it also allows light penetrating the ceiling as to create a sense of atmosphere that “relaxing under the tree”. We choose ocean as the main theme for the carpet. A dynamic pattern of wave in every corner of the space also creates a vibrant working atmosphere.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
The total design area is 1150 SQM which includes 57 private office ,1 co-working space,1 all-functional area, 2 meeting rooms, 1 standing meeting area, 3 phone booths & 1 breakout area.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The first known reference to an activity-based analysis of office work modes was by American architect Robert Luchetti from the late 1970s. He co-invented the now widely accepted concept of the office as a series of "activity settings" in 1983. In an activity settings-based environment, multiple settings are provided which have different technical and physical attributes assembled to support the variety of performance "modes" that take place in a work environment.

CHALLENGE:
In this project, our customer has a very high demand for the full use of space. How to create a space in a limited space to meet the needs of different work is a very difficult challenge. In order to make space quality better, need to continue to communicate with customers, to persuade owners to plan more public space.
