PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Residential House

INSPIRATION:
To conceptualize living evolution from primitive cave paradigm to modern utilitarian housing. We chose coarse-textured rock stacks as the master vision, which expressing nature from raw stone cragginess. By means of minimalist concept, cabinets and are methodically arranged, and a huge frame from foyer to whole TV wall standouts the framework. Connections echoes to rugged surface of stone, the cabinet are installed with relevant tonal effect, plaster-look finishing.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Avoid additional and useless construction, to broaden cubic perspective and residence’s living circulation. Sunlight through wenge wood blinds moderates its intensity and creates a natural breezy ambiance. White backdrops make natural rock stacks and plaster-touch shelving exposed in more prominent contrasts. Charcoal color scheme including wenge wood blinds turn out a calm and virile sensation.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Open-concept without intentionally enveloping beams and columns, broadening residence's living circulation. Sunlight through wenge wood blinds moderates its intensity and creates a natural breezy ambiance.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Based on the developer's original site plan, the living room TV wall was extremely short. Our solution was to add shoe cabinet at the left side of entrance door, and enlarge the TV wall width by the side of shoe cabinet. Metal trim starts from the celing of entrance to TV wall sides, turning into a huge frame which obtains concepts of minimalist.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Besides the formation of planes and cubes, allocation of beams and hidden storage cabinet, the outer black square metal frame alongside with the rock-stack wall completes the master vision.

CHALLENGE:
The total weight of natural rock stacking was beyond 2 tons, and it was painstaking to transport from supplier to apartment's owner.
