The Fallen Leaves

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Installation

INSPIRATION:
The inspiration comes from the explanation of Eastern Taoism philosophy. In Taoism, the creations come from and eventually return to nature, Being and Not Being coexist in the meantime; existing is vanishing, living is dying, with no absoluteness. I choose the leaves as the carrier and format of this work to describe its life cycle. Benefiting from the shape of leaves, the huge and bulky device is able to be shown in the beauty of light and thin.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This entry is a huge landscape public art. This device hides in the environment, it does not only meets the entertaining requirement, but also interacts with people and leads to critical thinking. The sculpture can be harmonious with any space and environment instead of a particular location, which makes it out of the ordinary. The stainless steel sculpture, with the skeleton design, accompanies its natural circumstance silently by sharing the reflected sunshine.
