| DESIGN NAME: Sleebb PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bed sharing guard INSPIRATION: On September 24th 2014, a 41-day-newborn baby in Shenzhen city, china was crushed to death by his asleep father. As a new father, the inventor was shocked by this piece of news and decided to do something. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The bed-sharing guard cannot only reduce the risk of accidents of babies sleeping with parents but also make parents not worry about crushing on infants and have a good sleep. It also can be used as baby's bed in adults' bed, a washing tub, a chair, and a swing which can serve children up to around 4 years old. It's inflatable and easy for handling and storage. It could be tucked into a bag or even a pocket after air vented. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When used as a way to protect bed-sharing infant, the design makes it possible to be used with up side down and vice versa. When the plate in the structure is on top, mom could breast-feed the infant while the product is lifted;when the side with plate is on the bottom, outfitted with a cushion, it functions as a baby bed in adults' bed. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was started in September 2014 in Beijing and finished in June 2017 in Beijing. The product will be available in August 2017 in China. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Safety and environment friendliness is distinct highlight of the product, consisting of the following two aspect. Firstly, the main material is inflatable membrane. It is with high elasticity, bacteria-resistance, biocompatibility, which is a kind of good environment friendly material. Secondly, the cloth cover is made of colorful organic cotton. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The main part of product dimensions is L490mm, W440mm, H180mm. Weight is 0.325kg. The structure is alike horizontal laid U-shape inflatable protective fence. Opening U-shape is for infant to stretch legs. Other three sides encompass infant's head and body. On top of U-shape is a inflatable plate connecting plates on left & right. TAGS: Bed-sharing guard, Bed in bed, Safe, easy to use, convenient to take and store, eco, multi-functional RESEARCH ABSTRACT: US researchers found that from year 2004 to 2012 there were 8, 207 sudden infant deaths in 24 countries. Approximately 70% of these deaths happened when adults slept with babies. 0-4 months old babies are high risk people. However, bed-sharing provides adults the convenience to take care of infants, and it's been proved that it's good for babies' neuro system growth when sleep with adults. The link between parents and babies can also be strengthened. Thus to reduce the risk of bed sharing is very important. CHALLENGE: The choosing of film meterial and setting the gas wall thickness of product.
