| DESIGN NAME: The Palace With A Secret Code PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: Decorativeism used to apply western-style ornaments such as crystal and cornice carving. In this project, we would like to introduce firing techniques of glass art craftsmen in Chushan area of Nantou area, signaling a transition from Classic to Modern art of crafts in the East. With the beautiful details from craftsmen interpreting romantic scenarios in palaces, Decorativeism now is enriched with abundance. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: By combining eastern crystal art and western classical design, local art elements bring in new esthetic energy into interior design, creating new ways of decoration and echoes between interior design and workmanship. This project will deliver infinite possibility for design, esthetics, and workmanships. The kaleidoscope design in this project features mirrors reflecting all kinds of materials, making them glassy and glorious. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The reminiscence of home was expressed through the mood created by the crystal rays. Utilizing refracted light from the prisms and the principle of colorful kaleidoscopes, an enchanted world was projected through the application of sparkling, translucent materials such as glass and crystals, mysterious Turkish blue and intriguing azure of the marble. The living space created with mirrors and glass stimulated inspiration about home. The refraction of light and the reflection of shadows painted the space, while glass, crystals and mirrors set the stage. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: - SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: - TAGS: crafts RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: Crystal fuses ambiguity while glass reflects purity. Crystal craftsmanship of the Zhushan region was introduced to re-present the delicate details refined by the artisans. The unique glisten and translucency of leaded and fired glass, paired with the artistic characteristics of beveled cuts and diamond-shaped lattice technique, enriched the look and content of the home with traces of the crystal rays. Sunlight and moonlight flows freely in the space shimmering like a magnificent kaleidoscope and creates an ever-changing mesmerizing beauty.
