| DESIGN NAME: Boghcheh PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multifunctional Handmade Leather Bag INSPIRATION: Boghcheh is a persian word for bundle,in ancient Persia all women use it to transfer their important things with it. it's minimal form, the material that they use for it and the function of it ,made Boghche special . using this charocter for my bag and trying to keep all design simplisities in my bag was the point to reach the idea for designing a bag although for modern days and modern instruments like laptop and ipads but keeping the design of it minimal and unic. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Boghcheh is a hand made leather bag .my goal for designing this bag was to put some different spirit in to my desgin that we can not see now a days in normal handy bags in stores. women,as a user was the most important factore for me in my design ,making an ideal feeling each and every time that she use my bag and having a delicate experiance every time that she use it. using feminen forms and giving a feminen character to it make her to be closer to different feelings and experiances. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: as a container this bag could be a shoulder bag(tote bag) and back pack by just removing the handle from bag sides and fixing in to two smal rings under the bag and infront of the bag.the point is that there is always one convertable metal ring in to the handle that when you want to transform it from tote bag to back pack you just have to move it from one side of the handle to the middle of it and then fix it in to the metal ring that is fixed in front of the bag PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: project started in sep 2016 in Iran- Tehran and finished in Feb 2017 in Tehran. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: All the Process from creating patterns, cutting and preparation of bag parts is done by hand. the stitching process is done by sewing machine and the finishing process is done by hand tools . SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 4.37*22*9 cm material:combination of Horse and cow leather TAGS: handmade,bag,iran,in RESEARCH ABSTRACT: by inspiring from bundle in ancient persia i searched more than 20 kinds of bundle in our culture and in other countries culture too and after interviewing with more than 100 women and asking them to talk about the important factores that they want from their bags i matched all the datas together and tried to design something modern and functionam from all the datas that i had and i had in my mind as a standard for my design.the main goal from starting my project was to achieve two things: 1.making some hing that give user ideal feeling about her bag(emotional design) 2.having a delicate and unic experiance any time that she use it(experiance design) CHALLENGE: because of that i want to design a multifunctional bag for women, it had to be a laptop bag too ,so by searching the standard sizes for all the laptop bags and by prototyping with Graph papers and artificial leather finally after more than 10 times prototyping ,i achieve to this sizes that either could cover standard ergonomic sizes for laptop bags and could make the laptop(that is no inside the bag but out side of it)safe! the fact is that i wanted all the spaces inside the bag for design a sortable platform inside of it so i transfer laptop from inside the bag to out side of it by using the best size for bag that it can protect the laptop and laptop is just stick to her waist inside a pocket between weist and one leather surface that cover the surface of the bag and laptop.
