| DESIGN NAME: A Family Reunion PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residence INSPIRATION: "The distinguished values with respect to different people," the principle and original intention for the designer who assert vehemently when planning every business of interior design. In this project, we can observe the dedication and expertise from the designer as well. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: At the entranceway, the design of a bit circuitous path secures the family's privacy. At this place, the frosted glass wall is like an illuminating box that introduces the sunlight to the indoor space. The hallow space, on the top of this wall, spills the indoor space with fresh air. On the other side of this wall, the recessed space, on the wall, is available for displaying collections, the elaborate design demonstrating the precious collections from the client for years. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The two sons and a daughter, like their father, work hard, and once in a while they want to have a family reunion after heavy workloads. Under such circumstances, the designer had made the dining room available for many people. In the dining room, the luxurious chandelier and stone dining table make an addition the majestic and lively atmosphere, and the intimate family relationship. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The large floor, made of Spanish stone bricks, reveals tender characteristic. A Cote d'Azur Stone, tranquil but majestic, is hung on the wall behind the couch in the living room. The coffee table, in the living room, is made of the same material. The horizontal stone grains, carved by nature, spread out the flat spatial magnitude. The two TV walls are made of rock slates as well. The distinct scales of modern grilles and the different stones have made an addition the diversity in composed characteristic in the space. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 198 square meters TAGS: Residence RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The distinguishing characteristics, in this project, are of great majesty and tenderness. After knowing more the personal story of the client, the designer realized that after experiencing the amazing and great achievements in career, the client wants to have a mundane life, the calm and peaceful life with his wife. The designer, therefore, has made this residence a wonderful, simple and reserved place that reflects the client’s career experience and wisdom, by using skillfully the natural rocks and sunlight that demonstrate appropriately the client’s social status and personality. CHALLENGE: The storage room, available for storing golf clubs and sporting goods, on the left side of the entranceway, is made of elegantly valuable ariston stones. The storage cabinet, made of plain woods and on the right side of the entranceway, is available for storing miscellaneous items and shoes.
