DESIGN NAME: Coppa
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Faucet, kitchen
INSPIRATION: This project was inspired by the smart mixer tap, where uses smart technology in the kitchen.
Coppa is a Smart mixer tap that is able to detect your hands when approaching and will be rotated to switch on. The user is able to pre-adjust the temperature and the volume and its will display information. Once it detects a human walking towards it, it will be powered on and inform the user of the current temperature of the water. Thus, this is able to solve the problem of accidental scalding. The height of the mixer is able adjusted to suit different task.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It has a sensor detector incorporated in the faucet. This sensor allows it to detect motion around the faucet.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When it the user leaves the bathroom, it will be rotate back to a straight funnel, its is able to reduce the sanitary space and keep a minimal look.
The use is able to choose to operate with the touch screen mode or the mechanical mode. In the touch screen mode, the user is able to switch on the tap with a slight tap on the screen as the user is busy with different task in hand.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This project looks into reducing the sanitary space in the kitchen and considering how smart technology is incorporated in the working space. The end result is to inform the user of the current water temperature and the amount of water used. This creates an awareness and gives feedbacks to the user on the volume consumption.
CHALLENGE: The challenge is to maintain a balance in the material and the minimal form while incorporating smart technology in the bathroom or kitchen space.
