DESIGN NAME: TRACER
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Finger interaction device
INSPIRATION: When I was young, my father tried to use a navigation. However, he wasn't familiar with the touch screen. He tried to use the function while driving, but it was quite dangerous. Yet, it is still hard to manipulate smart devices while driving also.
Then I thought, what if the touch screen came out to the reality? Tracer might seem simple, but this product will help a number of drivers in the world. And It can also be used in variable ways.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Tracer is a finger-adaptable user-machine interaction device.
It is designed to solve the problem when a user is not able to access to touch screen, or when needing precise manipulation on smart devices.
Such as driving, or watching movie in remote distance.
Plenty of gestures are available and are also configurable.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The principle of operation is triangulation based with bluetooth technology. Fitted on the finger, you can operate TRACER on any surface as you move the mouse on the desk. This product can provide a unique user experience that formerly was only on the digital touch screen, came out to the reality.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Think about when you ride a car or a taxi, nowadays, smart devices are highly mandatory. However, manipulating these devices while driving is quite dangerous and very uncomfortable. Also, there are plenty situations that needs remote and precise manipulation to the touch screen; ex) watching movie with tablet PC, or having a presentation in the group study. TRACER is designed to solve these kind of problem.
