| DESIGN NAME: Easy Wear Collar Necklace PRIMARY FUNCTION: Necklace. Collar. INSPIRATION: Office lady need necklaces wear easily. Button-down shirt is a normal Office women like to wear necklaces on work, and like to choose the one stylish and professional. The button-down shirt is a popular business casual style for them. They need the jewelry in quality style , bring more confidence. They need a jewelry easy to wear to focus on their work. Sometimes the layers of necklace and material of the chains are make women boring. Multi-layers necklace make people do action inconvenience. The chain touching skin is make people itching and uncomfortable. In this situation, we need to think about a new way to design the jewelry for office ladies. Why not make a easy-wear necklace by using the button on the shirt. No chain, No uncomfortable. Just fix the necklace collar on the button. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The necklace is only a piece of necklace collar without chain. It can be hanged on the buttons of shirts, and easily be changed. No chains to touch skin, No itching happened, No clasps need to be open and close. Let office ladies more focus on the work. Easy and comfortable way to decorate their out-looking. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When people wear the button-down shirt and want to wear this collar necklace, open the jewelry case, put the collar on right place and fix the cord onto the button of shirt. The cord is flexible, so it can fix the most of button-down shirt. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2016 in Hong Kong and finished in March in Hong Kong. It has not been not exhibited. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The standard of distance between two button of button- down shirt is 2.5-3 inch. This necklace collar has two flexible cord hoops on the top for hanging on the buttons. They can be fixed to the most of the button-down shirt collars. The necklace is handmade. Decorated by stones. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The collar necklace is nipped into the jewelry case by flexible plastic sheet. It looks like be suspended in the case. This is a special part for the design. In this way, it is easy for user to collection. and no need to open the case to choose. In the other hand, case design is easier for retailers to display the products for sell. The necklace: 85*55mm The packaging: 110*110*20mm TAGS: Button-down shirt collar, Collar necklace, Office lady, Necklace gift, jewelry RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We did research on users- office ladies. Such as their attire style, the way of wearing jewelry, the situation of working when wearing jewelry, the style they prefer for jewelry, the purpose they want to express for the out looking, etc. We found that they need the necklace in stylish and professional. It need to be comfortable to let them focus on work. Easy to wear. We also did research on the collar necklace design. Such as the size of it should be, the materials, and the fixing way. We found metal is suit for business style and gemstone beads give women more confidence. The fixing way should be hang on the button, no need to drill though the clothes and use any chain. CHALLENGE: The most difficult part is what the necklace looks like. The design should be suit for business women, with special out-looking. No naive, No extravagant, No sparkle. It should be a kind of statement collar , it needs philosophy deep.
