| DESIGN NAME: Lounge Elevate PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lounge Bar INSPIRATION: The client wanted this establishment to open its doors for its discerning patrons to experience exquisite contemporary interiors that are inspired by natural materials and their marvelous manifestations. So we decided to work on the concept of Elegant Simplicity for this lounge. Creating an unforgettable experience through fusion of Rustic Natural Materials, straight lines in design without compromising on the ethos of the space was the key result area while going to the drawing board. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Entry to the Lounge is a unique experience. With Slate cladding on one side, illuminated wooden steps lead to the mysterious walkway on top. Clad in Black Mirror, backlit glass flooring makes you part of MJ Billie Jean video as the flooring comes to life with every step taken. Repetition of lights in vertical and overhead slits add mystery to the area, while the criss crossing lasers in the middle of the walkway enhance the mysterious air and create the illusion of infinite space. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Lounge has two sections namely the long bar and the relaxed lounging. The two areas are separated by a community table and lounge has sections using see through partitions of sandstone. The bar counter has a backlit floral panel and the central space in front of it, highlighted by glass columns, becomes a dance floor for parties. Backlit bamboo panels act as backdrop for the lounge seating and provide general lighting. The Community table with a series of hand-blown glass lamps draws attention. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Project started in September 2011 and got completed in December 2012 and is located in Pune a city near Mumbai India. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: It is an amalgamation of various materials that come together beautifully. While the flooring is a mix of Vitrified Tiles and Laminated Glass, walls use Sand Stone, Black Lava Stone, plain and black Mirror, Sliced Bamboo panels on Canvas along with Leather Panels in different areas and Ceramic Tiles in the Kitchen and Toilets. The lounge is peppered with Teak and Marbau Wood furniture. Lighting plays a pivotal role hence we put LEDs and Lasers to good use. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Total area of Elevate is 250 square meters TAGS: Lounge Bar, Best Bars, Bar, contemporary bars RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The simple ambiance plays with the combination of an earthy look set in modern comfort, a dash of bold colors in soft furnishings act as the dressing. Natural Elements like wood and sandstone tiles and engaging play of light and shadow enliven and enhance the Divine experience at the Elevate lounge. It portrays the philosophy of offering hospitality in a functional environment that connects with the guest emotionally and is a visual delight as well. CHALLENGE: Positioning of the existing services and restrictions on entry and exit points imposed division of spaces that were difficult to merge with the flow in totality. Segregation of Guest entry to dining area and the lounge at entry point imposed the creation of a narrow walk way. But the biggest challenge was maintaining the right mood as one enters the different areas of dining or the lounge, without compromising on the functionality.
