| DESIGN NAME: China Digital Manor PRIMARY FUNCTION: Signage INSPIRATION: Considering the aesthetic and functional characteristics of the overall architecture, we created a thoughtful and interactive space identity system which mirrors the work of art of the unique and modern physical structures. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The signage (system) communicates and conveys information through digitalized visual graphics and display. It therefore immerses perfectly into the underlying digital theme, always keeping in mind that the receiver is likely to make cognitive decisions based on accurate information provided. Considering the aesthetic and functional characteristics of the overall architecture, we created a thoughtful and interactive space identity system which mirrors the work of art of the unique physical structures. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: We reached an agreement with the client that the signage system should reflect a the theme of this complex and echoes with the buildings. As a result the project went very smoothly. The signage is actually a success, and it is embraced by people who see it. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Stainless steel boxes as the main body of the sign, information is printed on white and black baking finish glass through silkscreen printing; The information presents in a digital way, which makes the glass looks like a display screen. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 2000mmx500mm 4000mmx820mm TAGS: China Digital Manor, signage RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We did a lot of research on the community, and learnt much from the buildings. That's why the signage finally speak the same language with the buildings and the space they create. CHALLENGE: The buildings of China Digital Manor present strong digital features. The challenge we faced is how to integrate the characters of the buildings into the signage system, especially when the key element is digital, which is not easy to present.
