| DESIGN NAME: No.1 Outside Beach Club PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bar INSPIRATION: Based on the cocoon-to-butterfly theory, this project constructs a warming and comfortable place to entertain guests and provide the spiritual experience of cocoon-to-butterfly. Therefore, it allows people to release the true self and enjoy the easiness and pleasure after the transformation. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Insides the cocoon blocks can be seen everywhere. They are surrounded by the net wall made from vine material, providing some private space that can ensure some sense of security. Besides, the meshes on the wall can meet people’s peeping desire. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: With the help of holographic shadow-casting technique, the space offers a distinctive and glaring visual effect, producing an illusion that the butterflies are dancing around, as if people break through the constraint, improve in the hardship and enjoy themselves heartily in the comfortable, uncontrolled and self-released feeling. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The facade of the building is the very image of butterfly and is constructed under GRC, GRFC and GRP technologies. And with the colorful glass curtain wall, this project vividly shows the very moment the butterfly break through the cocoon. Once entering into the building, one receives the wonderful feeling of waiting for a chance to make a big transformation.
