DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
Joy

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Necklace

INSPIRATION:
One day, while trying to solve a professional problem, I was playing with plexi samples on my desk. Suddenly I made a shape that resembled a necklace and I decided to make one. That one was the first of many more to come, of different shapes and lengths.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The necklace is unique because here plexiglas is not used to make a pendant, but as the main constructive element of the necklace. Plexiglas as the material is not heavy while metal links make the necklace movable so it is light and comfortable to wear

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Well, this necklace does not operate nor interact, you just have it, you wear it and you love it!

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
I made the first necklace in december of 2012. in Zagreb, Croatia.

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:
Fashion, Apparel and Garment Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The necklace is made out of pieces of plexiglas in different geometrical shapes and colors, connected with metal links.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
This necklace is 85 cm long and it comes in an orange - pink protective pouch tied with the orange bow.

TAGS:
necklace, plexiglas, jewelry, vivid,joy

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
There was no research needed. I simply made something that I like to wear. Evry new necklaceis a small research of its own because I always try to make one different from the other.

CHALLENGE:
The main challenge was to find chain that has links appropriate for my use, and the dullest part was drilling several holes for the links on each piece of plexiglas.
