| DESIGN NAME: Thierry Mugler-Star Power PRIMARY FUNCTION: Exhibition Display INSPIRATION: The Inspiration came from the Mystery of the Galaxy; a futuristic theme which was built around with stars and special shapes. My Creation for Thierry Mugler was to demonstrate Its Brand's "Star Power" that captured visitors' attention. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Thierry Mugler - Star power was designed for the 1st Anniversary Malaysia Flagship Celebration 2011@Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. In 2011, it was a another great opportunity to work with one of the most influential brand in today’s fashion world, Thierry Mugler. This project was a special and challenging one, because my design has to reflect the brand’s identity and also creative. The management was expected me to design for their official celebration for the 1st Anniversary in Malaysia, also showcases their brand new Spring/Summer Jewellery and Watches collection. The project has divided into 3 stages; First, was involving photography art directions for the S/S Jewellery and Watches collection and also transformed into Catalogue design(which is done by me). Apart from completing the Product shootings and catalogue design, i was also given a precious chance to design the Decoration for the showcase which was been features in the concourse area, and main entrance of Malaysia’s premium and largest shopping mall, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. Also, i have also participated fully in working with some of outstanding exhibition builders and production house in making my design a successful demonstration for Thierry Mugler. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The Project basically started 2 months ago before the exhibition date confirmed on 11 October 2011. At the Beginning, my ideas was presented to the management in a week time after conducted a formal meeting in discuss of the project brief. Approval process took almost 30 days because it was sent back to Italy for headquarters' approval. Then, i proceed to approach the interior design company for quotation, the quotation was approved after 2 weeks of negotiating on the pricing, which after that took 7 days to produced according to my design which was under my supervision. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Project was completed within 2 months time before the exhibition date been confirmed on 11 October 2011, at the concourse area in Pavilion Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The Exhibition display i have design was placed for 7 days in Pavilion. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Card Boards, Acrylics, Wood Platform, Stainless Steel, Clay, Polyester, Plastics, Glass, Prints, Lightings and etc. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: None TAGS: Thierry Mugler, Stars, Galaxy, Fashion, Jewellery, Space, Future, Modern RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Research was conducted with the Management Brand Guidelines, we worked closely together to define and search for breakthrough in the art of display. The research period wasn't too long because it wasn't hard to understand the core value of the brand's identity, but it rely on my creativity to put it in the reality which the ideas that i have created have won the trust of the management and approved with my original idea without having much revision to be done. CHALLENGE: The Challenge was to create an extraordinary Display that will draw people's attention when they walk pass the shopping mall concourse area, the management wanted to the display on its exhibition to lead them to the retail store, but i managed to create this special yet result oriented design which helps the brand creates it's awareness towards the public.
