DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
''Blue Motion''

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Jewelry Ring

INSPIRATION:
In ancient countries like Persia, every single Prehistoric object would be a source of inspiration for the creation of art. The 7000-year-old objects of pre-literate societies found on top of the hill Sayalk in Kashan, Iran obsessed me in very early stages of my studies at the Art School of Tehran in 2003. Frequently, on these objects obvious paintings of wild fauna and cattle (including goats however), the paintings have their own style, which is very reminiscent of abstract art. One of these objects that inspired me to design this ring was the painting of a goat with long horns on a bowl of ceramic with its symbolic concept and function.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
I would like to create a bridge between the painting of goat, the ancient heritage and the modern art to design a timeless piece of jewellery that can be used in formal occasions or everyday life.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
In ancient Persia, Goat was a symbol of movement and life; its long horns were symbol of power, and blue was the colour of water and life. Therefore the ring inherits the old heritage within itself, with exposing a powerful and modern shape on the surface as well.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
This project started during my studies at the Art School of Tehran in 2003, and the design was finished in Summer 2013, Gothenburg, Sweden.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
This model parts to two pieces in order to set a gemstone ring size: 7, Material: yellow gold 18 grams, Sapphire stone

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Product dimensions are 28 mm in height, 10 mm in width and 21.30mm in length (From top View) it is easy to wear the ring with observance of technical and organic standards.

TAGS:
Blue Motion Ring, Blue Motion, Ancient Blue Motion,

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
My first stage to design this Jewellery was investigating in ancient Persian history and the 7000 year old objects of pre-literate societies found on top of the hill Sayalk in Kashan, Iran. Finding the exact reasons for doing these abstract paintings would not be simple.

CHALLENGE:
Stone setting of this project was very challenging. After intense working and examining many different ways, I finally came up with the best method to set the stone.
