RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The concept started with a weaving pattern and a desire to create big, bold jewelry of genuine medium grade gemstones. The idea is to use a lot of gemstones that have good color and translucency to create stunning pieces that are also affordable to a select audience. After a number of trials, a few designs were created using Blue Sapphire, Peridot, Colored Sapphires, Pearls, Red Spinel, Tanzanite.
CHALLENGE: The most difficult challenge of this project are numerous. Each half is woven with continuous wire strand with the beading graduated to create the taper of the band as it wraps around the wrist. It is a real challenge to work out the proper wire to use for strength, longevity and being able to strand the ruby beads in this way. The Gold ends were designed on average bead size to be used
