| DESIGN NAME: Crystal Trade Center PRIMARY FUNCTION: Skyscraper INSPIRATION: It was born from my idea of building a permanent exhibition center. I would like to realize a really unusual design shape of the external walls. The model realized by myself with lead Crystal 24% provides a better idea of the the brightness that can offer this design. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: I imagined a system that would focus solar light in each floor. This, because each level of the building has a radial outer wall on each side. Considering that the structure is a three-sided pyramid, each outer wall has external radial not only on the sides but also on the edges. This constructing solution is innovative whilst considering the new energy savings requirements of today's architecture aiming to reduce considerably lighting and heating costs.This shape increase of 40% the light inside of each floor. The curved glass together the steel structure create a truly exclusive design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It will be a new idea to realize prototipe having a significant impact on the final customers. I'm an Artisian and I like use computers. Tri-dimensional software are very good for any projects and rendered images are so good. But my idea is transform the file .jpg rendered in a real piece aided by the magic of crystal clear or colored. I really think it will be a new way to explore and preview any projects. I'd like to change the plastics or wood models with this incredible material !. For sure I can follow the projects of all designers or architects to realize theirs ideas. Me and my workshop... We are open for all request. Imagine the opportunities ! PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Personal project started in May 2012 and finished in September 2012. It is "born" in my workshop located in Colle di Val d'Elsa Via del Murolungo n° 20 z.i.p 53034 (Siena) Italy. Crystal Trade Center is is visible in this location. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Ultra clear glass and chromed steel. This will be the materials to build a real skyscraper. For my model I used a block in Crystal 24% lead. It com from a crystal's fusion . Totally 40 working hours was necessary to realize it in my workshop. Each part of it is engraved totally by hand using turning manual machines , grindings and diamond tools. Polished and brilliance completely myself. A real handicraft work. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The ideal model of this building was rendered by means of a crystal sculpture completely handmade by myself. 130 x 130 x 590 mm (Prototype dimensions) Lead Crystal 24% engraved by hand TAGS: Crystal trade Center, Crystal Skyscraper, Soft and gently to the wind, Arts Crafts Hand Made, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Measuring the light intensity with a luxmeter on different Piramidal shapes. This research confirmed that the design choosen is the best in terms of light refraction inside the shape. The final effect is visually pleasant and appealing also on the external part.
