| DESIGN NAME: Floating PRIMARY FUNCTION: Chair INSPIRATION: The shape of the chair inspired from eye illusion of a floating object. The eye illusion idea brought into a chair design which is applied as the mirror-like appearance of the seat structure, so the circle shaped seat looks like a floating object. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The structure of this chair design is very unique, the seat of the chair looks like floating. It's unique design provides a different feel of sitting. The circle-shaped seat looks like a floating object, which using the polished finish stainless steel to produce a mirror-like appearance of the seat structure. It reflects its surrounding so the stainless steel looks like invisible. The circle shaped seat is the main emphasis of the design which created to express the faithfulness of the circle shape. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The material are laminated bamboo which is very environmentally friendly and sustainable because bamboo quickly reaches maturity. The chair design use medium size stainless steel square tube for the structure of the seat, and it joined to the laminated bamboo using the mortise tenon joint.
