INSPIRATION:
Zucca was inspired by the organic elegance of nature, particularly the fluid curves and segmented structure of a pumpkin. This natural geometry guided the design process, resulting in a sculptural form that balances strength and lightness. Extensive research on woodworking techniques enabled the seamless integration of craftsmanship and innovation, ensuring a visually striking yet structurally sound piece that elevates traditional table bases into functional works of art.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
A Zucca Table Base is a sculptural piece inspired by organic forms, seamlessly blending aesthetics and functionality. Crafted from solid wood, its fluid, carved structure evokes the natural curves of a pumpkin, providing both visual lightness and structural strength. The meticulous craftsmanship highlights the materials richness, ensuring uniqueness in every piece. Zucca redefines traditional table bases, transforming them into a statement of elegance and artisanal excellence.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
The Zucca table base seamlessly supports the tabletop with its sculptural design, offering both stability and aesthetic appeal. Its fluid, organic curves naturally draw the eye, transforming any space it occupies. The craftsmanship ensures a sturdy, long-lasting structure while maintaining a lightweight visual presence. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The Zucca Sculptural Table Base project began in June 2024 in Itapema and was completed in December 2024 in Itajai, Brazil. Currently, it is not in production. The design process focused on creating a harmonious blend of cutting-edge innovation, practical function, and visual elegance, ensuring that each element works together to create a striking, yet purposeful piece.

Zucca is crafted from solid wood using advanced woodworking techniques that combine CNC machining with meticulous hand finishing. The segmented structure is precisely carved to achieve fluid, organic curves while maintaining structural integrity. High precision joinery ensures durability, while natural finishes enhance the wood’s texture and grain. This fusion of technology and craftsmanship results in a sculptural yet functional base, embodying both innovation and artisanal excellence.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:

The greatest challenge in creating Zucca was balancing its sculptural, organic form with structural stability. The use of advanced CNC technology combined with handcrafting was necessary to ensure precision. Additionally, the challenge of sourcing high-quality materials and integrating sustainability without losing the piece's aesthetic appeal pushed the boundaries of traditional woodworking and modern design techniques.
