INSPIRATION:
This series draws inspiration from the deep understanding of co-existence between humans and animals and modern popular culture. The animal's arms are encircled to form a heart shape, symbolizing innocence and love, aiming to evoke respect for nature and life.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This Heart Series takes a personification device to enable humans to project their emotions onto animals. These animal sculptures stand erect with arms encircled in a heart shape, calling for harmonious co-existence between humans and animals. This series takes a modern minimalist design, with a cartoon body and look, showcasing humans' spirituality. Stainless steel material and mirror finish polishing process endow this series with a cool, sci-tech, and cute sense.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
This series of sculptures requires no complex operation steps. It serves as a physical art form, allowing the audience to feel the texture and color effect as well as the conveyed emotion and ideas with their hands, eyes, and hearts.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project started in 2023 in Beijing.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The sculpture applies stainless steel casting, with the surface processed through high-temperature titanium plating to present a dazzling color effect. This technology not only ensures the durability of the work but also gives a unique visual experience.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
This sculpture has 11 size options (14*14*46 cm to 66*52*170 cm), meeting mult-scene needs. Made of stainless steel, it is corrosion-resistant and long-lasting.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
This project centers around how to convey the idea of harmonious co-existence between humans and animals through artworks. It tries to explore the innovative application of materials and techniques in artworks, aiming to create a series of sculptures that are full of traditional charm and modern aesthetics.

CHALLENGE:
A high-temperature titanium plating process is applied on the surface. Uniform color distribution with a sense of layering and subtle but eye-pleasing color changes are required, which are challenging, so proficient mastery of this technology is crucial.

Mi Bo

PROFILE:
Mi Bo, a contemporary artist, lives and works in Beijing and graduated from the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in China with a Master's Degree. He is active in multiple art fields, such as sculpture, installation, and contemporary art in an interdisciplinary approach. He has won many international awards, including the silver award at the US MUSE Design Awards, the HKDA (Hong Kong Designers Association) Awards 05, and the award of excellence at the Seventh National Visual Arts Competition. His works were displayed in multiple international exhibitions, such as the Seaside Blue Coast Outdoor Land Art Season 2021, the 58th Venice Art Biennale Theme Exhibition 2019 in Italy, and the "MIX" International Contemporary Art Invitation Exhibition 2018 in Paris, France.
