| DESIGN NAME: NvShine PRIMARY FUNCTION: Unique pearl necklace INSPIRATION: This jewelry design is inspired by Hunan's intangible cultural heritage, Nvshu is the world's only script created and used exclusively by women. Our design aims to capture the unique and gentle aesthetic essence of NvShu, integrating it into modern jewelry design to create pieces that are both culturally rich and in line with contemporary aesthetics. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The NvShine pearl necklace draws inspiration from NvShu script, artistically transformed to form the necklace's metal parts, interspersed with pearls of varying sizes to showcase the texture of polished and brushed craftsmanship. This piece is not just jewelry but a symbol of feminist and equality values. Through this design, we hope to convey the deep cultural essence of this ancient tradition to contemporary society through the language of modern design. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Wearing the NvShine pearl necklace not only enhances personal charm but also serves as a means to express individuality, freedom, and equality. It encourages wearers to present themselves with confidence and pride, while conveying the message that women should be endowed with equal rights and opportunities. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in November 2023 in Xiamen and finished in April 2024 in Xiamen University of Technology. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design includes various lengths and styles to suit different occasions and personal preferences. The size and arrangement of pearls are also carefully designed. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 10cmm x Depth 8mm x Length 400/420/440mm TAGS: Jewelry, Pearl, Necklace, Modern design, NvShu, Feminism RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design process involved a deep exploration into the history and cultural significance of NvShu and the important contributions of Ruth Bader Ginsburg to gender equality. The NvShine pearl necklace aims to convey a strong message of female autonomy and equality through the combination of modern design and traditional elements. CHALLENGE: Integrating traditional NvShu script with contemporary jewelry design while maintaining the authenticity and depth of the culture, and meeting modern aesthetic and functional demands, was a primary challenge in the design process.
