| DESIGN NAME: Rebirth PRIMARY FUNCTION: Tricycle INSPIRATION: The inspiration for this design is how to make thousands of abandoned shared bicycles create some new livelihood opportunities for the stall economy of low-income families, and rekindle their yearning and pursuit of a better life. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This is a three-wheeled vending trolley converted from an abandoned shared bicycle, and the retractable basket can fully display the goods on sale, saving space when riding, and improving the flexibility and safety of the product. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The basket of this three-wheeled vending van can be retracted. When selling, the basket can be stretched into the shape of a ladder platform, which can fully display the product, and the basket can be retracted when riding, which can improve the flexibility and safety of riding. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in October 2023 in Changshu and finished in December 2023 in Changshu |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Based on the modular and standardized design concept. The deconstructed bicycles are reassembled through cutting, grinding, welding, and other processes. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 1200mm x Depth 2480mm x Height 1500mm. NAME: Changshu Institute of Technology PROFILE: CIT as a provincial full-time undergraduate institute was established in 1958, characterized by cultivating applied talents. It covers an area of 120 hectares with two campuses— Donghu and Dongnan campus. Exclusive foreign teachers apartment and international students apartment are provided on campus.CIT comprises 53 undergraduate majors of 12 schools which involve 9 disciplines —engineering, science, literature, economics, management, history, law, education, art, etc. It has an enrollment of over 18200 students. Among its nearly 1,200 staff, there are over 250 with doctor degree, and about 450 with senior professional title. CIT has been persistent in serving the locality, developing interactively with regional economy and social causes, and establishing several professional school with some famous enterprises, such as elevator engineering school, international service engineering school, photovoltaic technology school, automobile engineering school, and so on. |
